Scenario of Beneficiaries :

All the beneficiaries in the project will be a group of those youths who knowing or unknowing was involved in illegal activities so they are facing social and economic challenges in communities. These groups of youth are not easily accepted by the society. The majority of youth enter correctional facilities with a broad range of intense educational, mental health, medical, and social needs. Large numbers of incarcerated juveniles are marginally literate or illiterate and have experienced school failure and retention. These youth are also disproportionately male, poor, minority, and have significant learning and/or behavioral problems that entitle them to special education and related services. This group of youths will be the most susceptible and economically destitute section of young generation, who really deserved to be in the mainstreaming of employment. Through a skill development training programme focusing on orphans, juvenile, school leavers and those ready to enter the labour market, we will bring this section in mainstreaming. This program will also change their mindset towards the society and which will bring the feeling of brotherhood. On the other hand it will also reduce negative aggressive behaviour of the participant

Project Summary :

This project is planned and articulated in the context of the experience and learning of Village Care Society, Working in the development field in general and in particular on Nagpur city, Maharashtra. The designed project will strengthen the capacities and competencies of young orphans, juvenile in a sustainable way. The central theme, addressed in this project, is to mobilize youth and strengthen the processes of constituency building to enable orphans, juvenile youth to articulate their voices. Life Skill, Meditation, Employability skills and Entrepreneurship skills is the foundation of any successful career and healthy life. These building blocks are frequently referenced in the media as lacking in orphan and juvenile. Education and experience may make person eligible to apply for a job, to be successful in the role an individual will need to exhibit a mix of skills: ‘Employability skills’.

The aim was to break down barriers that exist and promote inclusion; Supports people to increase skills in their chosen area and develop the skills needed to gain employment. The project articulate to reach out around 50 marginalized orphans, juvenile of Nagpur District. Through the project the youth will learn the value of communication, social skill and team working skills, it will also change the mindset and behaviour of the beneficiary towards the society which will help them to be easily accepted by the society in future. However, beneficiaries need also reminding of the importance of other life skill, employability skills, their role in employment, and experiencing these skills.

Project Activities :

The project reduces the gap between knowledge and employability or Entrepreneurship skills of the youth making them more self-reliant to meet their basic human needs, and help them to develop feeling of brotherhood. The implementation of project takes the following steps.

Pre training assessment and develop/select training courses for the youth.

 

Beneficiaries sensitization and enrolment of trainees

  • Selection of the beneficiaries based on the agreed criteria
  • Providing intensive and participatory training to the beneficiaries.
  • Providing them life skills training on regular basis.
  • Providing them vocational training throughout the project
  • Taking regular session on meditation for the participant.
  • Participatory Monitoring and evaluation of the Project implementation by the Village Care Society Coordinator and Executive level project monitoring team of Village Care Society.
  • Follow up services and market linkage support to the beneficiaries at city level.
  • Collection of the development index through the community based systems and structures of Village Care Society.
  • Process documentation of the entire project.

The project as a whole will generate a number of outputs:

  1. Resources/designs for resources that can be used to support Beneficiaries learning;
  2. Ways of involving students in generating personal understandings of employability and entrepreneurship
  3. Methods of researching perspectives on employability and specific curriculum changes;
  4. Methods of involving/engaging staff in employability development;
  5. Interventions which have had a direct impact on Beneficiaries employability and entrepreneurship skills
  6. The output will evaluate based on the findings in Monitoring and evaluation method and how many percentages of youth gain employment through this skill development programme.

Outcomes of the Project :

The following outcomes of the project

  1. It will be possible to begin to conceptualize different programmers in order of improve employability skills needed to supply the targeted skill labour market.
  2. The project will enable beneficiaries to identify perceptions of employment skills and address any mismatch with that of employer for the beneficiaries.
  3. They will recognize the importance of all employability, entrepreneurship and social skills and be able to plan, coordinate and organize at their workplace.
  4. Some will have developed meta-skills such as self-analysis, use of feedback, ability to reflect and then become more aware of one’s skills and knowledge.
  5. We have conceptualized this as career management skills. We anticipate that the finding from the project will be that all students will leave with at least some ideas of the ways in which the course contribute to building employability.
  6. It will help the participant to seat their vision of life and let them understand basic fundamental to success in life.
  7. The opportunity for dialogue with peers and staff will be invaluable for generating valuable insights the beneficiaries.
  8. It will change their mindset towards the society and also reduce negative aggressive behaviour.
  9. It will help them to develop their self -confidence, communication skills, power of decision making and problem solving.
  10. It will help them to cope with stress and emotion.
  11. Develop vision of life, nonviolence communication, friendship skills, meditation skills and concentration.

Risks :

Risks :

We may face some risk in implementation process like; participant may have a misunderstanding about the concept of productivity or competency. There is also a possibility of encountering skills demand in terms of relevance and quality in industries. They may not be ready in the beginning to change their mindset. We are planning to overcome these problems with the help and collaboration of different organizations and industries. We will establish strong links with local employers and local enterprises for better prospects of the students in future. A continuous activities and meditation will change their mindset.

Innovation :

Providing employability skills along with the entrepreneurship development training program itself is innovative idea. We are going to use some of the unique and new ideas of implementing the training program. We will use Brainstorming methods, visual arts, games, sports, music and acting. We Together with more interaction with the beneficiaries, engaging them through arts and culture with the practical experience of achieving something positive.  The Implementation of a project through such methods and technique is very unique of its kinds in India. Very few development sectors are practicing such methods. It is one major way of delivering training and project delivery of Village Care Society.

Sustainability

Sustainability

The project will significantly affect the lives of the beneficiaries in their income generation activities, livelihood and ability to become self-employed, Thus bringing in the much needed confidence among them helping them move forward in their careers. Their active participation in decision making process, planning; monitoring and evaluation will bring in an ownership of the programme. Once the external funding is over, Village Care Society plans to continue the project from income generated from industry specialists, professional federations and the external support received from Government programmes and other agencies. The project will promote a federation of SHGs with the objective of sharing information, conducting training, providing financial and non-financial services to its members.
